The gap

Anthropic's console reaches one of your agents.

The free sync tools reach all of them, and can't say who's allowed what. Flip the switch.

What goes on the belt

Skills are what an agent knows. Tools are what it can do.

Skills

How your team closes the books, writes a migration, answers support.

close-the-month · 1.4.0 · Finance

Tools

MCP servers and their credentials: the warehouse, the ticket system, the deployer.

warehouse-readonly · 3.0.1 · Data

Both get

  • An ownerA name, not a list
  • A versionRoll back in a click
  • A groupWho's allowed it
  • An audit trailEvery fetch, by name
  • A kill switchPull it everywhere

Setup

Three steps. The third one is theirs.

  1. Write it in the browser

No git, no pull requests. Save a draft, publish when it's ready.

    close-the-month · draft → 1.4.0

  2. Point it at a group

Support gets support skills. Contractors get the safe subset.

    Finance · 12 people → 6 skills

  3. They run one command

It lands in the agent they already have open.

    $ skill-belt install

Sandbox

Just you, no card

A real org that already happened. You cannot evaluate governance in an empty account, so we do not give you one.

  • Opens pre-populated: skills with owners and version history
  • You already own a plugin and have a change request waiting
  • Groups, entitlements and a populated audit log
  • Revoke a version and watch the log record it

FAQ

Reasonable objections.

How is this different from the free sync tools?

Those solve copying. Skill Belt solves who-gets-what and who-changed-it. If everyone on your team should have everything and nobody needs to know when it changed, the free tools are the right answer and we'll say so.

Do we have to move our skills off GitHub?

No. Skills stay plain SKILL.md and MCP config stays plain JSON, and you can export the whole catalog whenever you want. Portability is the argument we're making, so locking you in would rather undercut it.

Can non-engineers publish?

That's most of the point. Authoring is a browser editor with a save button and a publish button, and diffs read as prose, side by side. Nobody opens a pull request to change a paragraph.

Is anything running in production yet?

Not publicly. We're building with a handful of design partners, and the sandbox opens before general availability. If you'd like to be one of them, the contact form is the fastest way in.
